Achievements

An overview of our achievements from 2018 till Present.
  1. Between Nov 2018 and April 2019, we awarded over five hundred thousand naira in scholarship to the following beneficiaries:
    a) 26 secondary school students, who were award ten thousand naira each;
    b) a first-year University student (Aquinas College Akure) graduate was awarded two hundred thousand naira in scholarship;
    c) a University of Ilorin undergraduate student was awarded a twenty-five thousand naira in scholarship;
    d) Paid WAEC/SSCE fees of over thirty thousand naira for two Aquinas College Akure students
  2. On December 4th, 2019, we awarded over two hundred-thousand-naira worth of textbooks to students from these secondary schools: Aquinas College, St Louis, Oyemekun, and Fiwasaye.
  3. From inception (Nov 2018) of the Foundation till December 2019, we had four career talks for the scholars.
    a) Dr (Mrs.) Adesola Odofin gave the first talk (St Louis 1996 SP) focusing on careers in the medical field
    b) The second talk was delivered by Engineer Osusade Ayoola (an old student of Aquinas College) with emphasis on Engineering disciplines
    c) On April 15th, 2019, we had “The Nigerian Construction Industry” talk by our first guest speaker (Architect Bukola Olatunbosun and Engineering discipline talks by two guest speakers (Engr Olorunleke Tobi and ENGR Adelodun).
    d) On August 15th, 2019, Dr. Taye Familoni led a Seminar on University admission and mounting of career Technique
  4. We had the 2019 scholarship award ceremony on Saturday, November 2nd, 2019, at Aquinas College Akure. The award was extended to all the public secondary schools in Akure. We gave out 56 grants of #10,000 each to secondary school students. At the ceremony, we also honored our four Principals and five Teachers who have supported the Foundation in the last one year. Besides, we recognized our maiden scholars who have just finished o-level with excellent WAEC/ SSCE and JAMB/ UTME results. Please see a copy of their results below.

2019 WAEC JAMB Results

This year (2020), the Foundation has met the following goals:

  1. Organizing extra-mural lessons for all our scholars so that they can perform well in their WAEC/SSCE and JAMB/ UTME Examinations. We started the lessons on Saturday, December 7th, 2019, with five teachers. The Foundation is paying the teachers so the students can attend at no cost.
  2. Supported three of our first secondary schools’ graduates that need financial assistance to attend the University.
    a) One of the students is Adeola Ibukun, Adeola lost her dad (a farmer) earlier this year when she was writing her SSCE exam. She is just got admitted to the University of Ibadan and will have secured a one hundred and eighty thousand naira scholarship for her studies.
    b) The other scholar is Nnadi Gracious, a brilliant student from St Louis who made eight (8) distinctions in her SSCE exam. Gracious resumed at FUTA weeks ago. She is studying Production Engineering. Gracious’s parents are not able to support her financially, and our Foundation gave her a one hundred thousand naira scholarship.
    c) We also awarded a one hundred thousand naira scholarship to Paul Owoeye, a 200-Level medical student at the University of Benin. Paul received a #200,000 scholarship from our Foundation for his first-year education at the University of Benin.
    d) We are awarding a one hundred thousand naira scholarship to Oluwaseeni Akerele. Akerele is one of our first scholars who made seven distinctions at the O-levels and scored 320 in the Jamb/UTME exam. Akerele secured admission to study Medicine and Surgery at the University of Ibadan.
  3. We have organized four career talks to date, with two of the speakers presenting remotely from the United States via Skype. The aim of the talks includes the introduction of the students to the various career disciplines available out there.
